In recent years, the Comboni Missionaries have embraced the call for ecological conversion, aligning their work with Pope Francis’ encyclical “Laudato Si.” Recognizing the interconnectedness of environmental, social, and spiritual well-being, they have integrated environmental awareness into their mission. Through initiatives such as sustainable agriculture, clean energy projects, and conservation efforts, they exemplify their commitment to caring for both humanity and the Earth.
Laudato Si Centre Comboni Uganda Limited (LSCC) is a registered company that was started in Kampala by the Comboni missionaries in Uganda in January 2023, to coordinate the activities of Comboni Actions for Environment stewardship. It is inspired by the 2015 encyclical letter “Laudato Si” by Pope Francis and the XX General Chapter of the Comboni Missionaries, which call all people to discover integral ecology as an essential part of their mission and take action to respond to the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor.
To be a dynamic and vibrant organisation, spearheading ecosystem balance, sustainable stewardship of our mother earth, and enhancing human welfare in Uganda.
